HHRPA In The Community

Please join in extending a genuine thank you to our members who represented the HHRPA with pride as they volunteered their time in support of Ronald McDonald House on January 12, 2011.  This team had the opportunity to support families whose children are being treated for serious illnesses at downtown hospitals by preparing a meal to brighten their day through the HOME FOR DINNER program.  What an ideal way to come together, have fun and contribute to a great cause all at the same time!

HHRPA Year-End Social

Thank you to those who joined in our HHRPA Year-End Dinner Social on January 25, 2011.  What an enjoyable evening as we come together to celebrate the year that was by indulging in the distinctive dinner experience of the Benihana Japanese Steakhouse.

In conjunction with the knowledge and experience of Hicks Morley LLP attorneys, we are excited to offer HHRPA members access to the ASK AN EXPERT feature at no charge! Members have the flexibility and convenience to submit legal questions and receiving a response by email.

HHRPA is a proud supporter of our community through various charitable donations and events. Volunteering makes a difference and within HHRPA, it is a rewarding membership experience that is critical to the association’s continued success. With the expertise and involvement of members, we create awareness and promote excellence of the human resources field by providing volunteer services that support our community and promote HR knowledge-sharing.

Our next IN THE COMMUNITY event will be held in July 27, 2011 in support of Covenant House Toronto, Canada’s largest youth shelter. More than a place to stay, Covenant House Toronto provides 24/7 crisis care and has the widest range of services under one roof, including education, counseling, health care and employment assistance. Covenant House has helped thousands of young people move from a life on the street to a life with a future.

HHRPA is proud to offer a $2,500.00 scholarship annually to a full-time student wishing to pursue a career in the hospitality industry. This scholarship serves as a vehicle for our association to invest in the future of our industry.

Recipient selection is determined by a Board of Directors made up of senior executives from Toronto’s hospitality industry. The Board’s mission is to carefully review the scholarship applications submitted by students and select the most deserving young recipient.
